The applicant funnel is one of those ideas borrowed from the wider marketing world. There, they use something called the “buyer journey” to track incoming clients from first contact all the way through to the ‘happy customer’.
The applicant funnel has three stages: awareness, consideration, and decision.
These are an excellent way to map your candidate journey from the first contact via your content marketing efforts, all the way through happy new hire. The key to putting the applicant funnel into practice is to respect your candidates’ time, energy, and abilities by staying in touch throughout the process.
