Rotterdam, 30 April 2026 — Academy to Innovate HR (AIHR) announced the launch of Roleplays, an interactive learning experience embedded directly into its most popular HR certificate programs. Roleplays use generative AI to let HR professionals practice something they usually don’t get to rehearse: difficult workplace conversations like stakeholder negotiations, budget asks, and coaching sessions in a private, judgment-free environment that adapts to every response in real time.
Online HR courses teach frameworks and models effectively, but don’t always give people the chance to put their new knowledge into practice. HR professionals learn the theory of how to deliver feedback or negotiate with a stakeholder, then face the real situation, having never rehearsed it. Traditional roleplay workshops exist, but they aren’t available to everyone, and they come with the social pressure of performing in front of peers. Most HR professionals go into their highest-stakes conversations completely untrained.
AIHR’s Roleplays close that gap by placing a realistic, adaptive AI counterpart directly into the learning flow. After completing a lesson, members step into a simulated conversation with a character who pushes back, challenges their reasoning, and responds dynamically based on what they say. The AI operates without a script; it listens, reflects members’ own words back to them, and escalates when the conversation calls for it. After each session, members receive detailed coaching feedback referencing specific moments from their conversation. Members can practice in voice or text, retry as many times as they want, and do it all in an environment where they feel safe.

“Roleplays are a real step forward in how we help HR professionals build practical skills,” says Filippos Koulyras, VP of Product at AIHR. “When members tell us the AI reminds them of a real manager they once had, we know we’ve built something that goes beyond simple simulation.”
“It’s as close as possible to a real-life situation,” said Egle Rosenaite, an HR Business Partner and AIHR alumna. “In a quiz, you have time to contemplate. In the Roleplay, a stakeholder is talking to you, and you have to respond in the moment.”
Roleplays are currently available to all AIHR members inside the following certificate programs: Learning and Development, HR Business Partner 2.0, Artificial Intelligence for HR, People Analytics 2.0, Organization Development, and HR Generalist.
