What Is an AIHR Mini Course?

AIHR Mini Courses are AIHR's quick, focused online HR courses built to get learners up to speed on specific, often current HR topics in under four hours.

An AIHR Mini Course is a standalone, single-subject online training course on a narrow, often trend-driven HR topic, typically lasting between two and three hours.

Like AIHR Courses and Certificate Programs, each Mini Course is 100% online and self-paced, combining video lessons with downloadable resources learners can put to use right away. Every Mini Course is taught by AIHR’s faculty of world-class practitioners from the same instructor pool behind the AIHR Courses and Certificate Programs.

How AIHR Mini Courses are structured

Each Mini Course covers one narrow topic, with no capstone assignment or exam involved. It’s split into a small number of self-paced modules (typically two to three), each built from short video lessons. Claude for HR, for example, has three modules: Enhancing Productivity with Claude Chat, Automating HR Work With Claude Cowork, and Applying Claude to HR Use Cases.

Each module has its own short lesson and hands-on demo, rather than a lecture to sit through. The Mini Courses also include quizzes and assignments to test learners’ new knowledge, though these aren’t graded. Once a learner finishes a Mini Course, they automatically receive a certificate of completion.

Most of the courses focus on AI in HR and cover topics ranging from ChatGPT for HR and Claude for HR to Automating HR Work with AI Agents. AI is a fast-moving topic in the HR field right now, and the Mini Course format is built to help learners keep pace with it as it develops.

Who should take an AIHR Course?

An AIHR Course is a good fit if you:

  • Want fast, focused, practical guidance on a particular topic: Examples include how to use Claude or ChatGPT for HR work, AI tutorials for HRBPs or People Analytics, and how to automate HR work using AI agents.
  • Want to stay current on fast-moving topics: These range from AI Strategy for HR Leaders and Gen AI Prompt Design for HR to AI Ethics, Data Privacy, and Security and Custom GPTs for HR.
  • Are testing a new topic before committing to a longer course or certificate program: A Mini Course like Claude for HR, for instance, lets you sample a subject in just two hours, so you can decide you should go on to commit to a Course or Certificate Program.
  • Are a People Manager building one leadership skill quickly: Mini courses like Foundations for People Leadership or High-Impact Performance Management can help you do so efficiently.

The difference between an AIHR Mini Course, a Certificate Program, and a Course

An AIHR Course is longer and broader than a Mini Course, running two to 10 hours to cover one topic end to end. A Certificate Program is the most extensive option, lasting 25 to 45 hours across multiple modules, and ending in a capstone project that earns each learner a certificate.

A Mini Course, on the other hand, is built for speed and timeliness, instead of depth. It’s designed to help you track what’s changing in HR right now, especially in AI, rather than build a full skill set.

How to enroll in an AIHR Mini Course

AIHR Mini Courses can be accessed only as part of Full Academy Access, all Mini Courses, alongside 16+ Certificate Programs and dozens of Courses, for $1,850 a year. Browse all the AIHR Mini Courses to see the full current list, and determine which one is best for you.
