There are 5 stages of transformational change:

  1. Pre-contemplation: At this stage, you are not even aware that there's a problem. They may be content with the status quo and not interested in changing anything.
  2. Contemplation: In this stage, you become more aware of the problem and may start to consider possible solutions.
  3. Preparation: At this stage, you may start to take action to address the problem, such as doing research or seeking out guidance from others.
  4. Action: This is when you actually start making changes in their lives, such as adopting new behaviors or quitting smoking cold turkey.
  5. Maintenance: At this stage, you have hopefully integrated the changes made and are working to maintain the progress.
