Key responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage short-term and long-term DEIB strategies and programs throughout the employee lifecycle.
  • Advise, coach, and guide all levels of leadership to build cultural competence.
  • Act as a genuine and trusted DEIB advocate for employees and a change champion for the organization.

Job description template: DEIB Specialist

The DEIB Specialist is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of DEIB strategies and initiatives within the organization. This role will work closely with various business units to ensure that the organization’s diversity and inclusion objectives are met.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Chief Diversity Officer to develop, implement, and manage diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives and programs that align with the organization’s strategic goals.
  • Conduct research and analysis on industry best practices and emerging trends in diversity, equity, and inclusion, and identify opportunities for improvement within the organization.
  • Partner with HR and other business units to design, develop, and deliver training programs and workshops on diversity, equity, and inclusion topics.
  • Provide guidance and consultation to HR and business leaders on diversity and inclusion matters, including recruitment, retention, promotion, and leadership development.
  • Partner with the Communications team to develop and implement internal and external communication strategies that promote diversity and inclusion within the organization.
  • Manage and analyze data related to diversity, equity, and inclusion metrics and provide regular reports to senior leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external partners, organizations, and vendors to support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion program management, consulting, or related field.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends in diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Ability to analyze data and develop meaningful reports to guide decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in training and facilitation.
  • Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Ability to work effectively both in a team environment and independently.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion principles and practices.
